At first glance, the language may sound familiar—God, Christ, Scripture, salvation.
But the meanings behind those words have been changed.
The issue is not minor differences. It is a shift in authority, message, and the nature of salvation itself.
Christianity is grounded in Jesus Christ and the Bible as God’s completed revelation.
The Church of Almighty God shifts authority to Yang Xiangbin and new writings such as The Word Becomes Flesh.
This replaces the original foundation rather than building on it.
Christianity teaches one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Church of Almighty God rejects this and presents a changing or staged view of God.
When the nature of God changes, everything else changes with it.
The New Testament teaches salvation by grace through faith in Christ’s finished work.
The Church of Almighty God teaches ongoing judgment and purification are still required.
This shifts salvation from what Christ has done to what a person must complete.
Christianity teaches that Jesus is the final revelation of God and the only mediator.
The Church of Almighty God presents Him as part of an ongoing process requiring a new figure and new words.
This undermines the sufficiency of Christ.
The New Testament places final judgment and full restoration in the future.
The Church of Almighty God teaches these are happening now within their movement.
This places the group at the center of God’s present work.
Christianity reads Scripture in context, letting the text speak for itself.
The Church of Almighty God often reinterprets passages to support new teachings.
When the method changes, the meaning changes.
These are not small differences.
They affect who has authority, who God is, how salvation works, and who Jesus is.
For that reason, this is not simply another form of Christianity, but a departure from its central teachings.
